FCX Truck Driver Job 2024: Job Description

As an FCX Truck Driver, you will be responsible for operating haul trucks to transport materials within the Freeport-McMoRan mining operations. Your duties will include safely navigating haul routes, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations, and communicating effectively with dispatch and other team members. You will also be expected to conduct routine inspections of your vehicle, report any issues or concerns, and participate in relevant training programs to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.

• Operate haul trucks proficiently to transport materials from loading areas to processing areas.
• Understand changes in assigned work areas and identify potential hazards.
• Conduct inspections to ensure optimal equipment and tire performance.
• Execute assignments received from the computerized dispatch system or through two-way radio communication.
• Provide training and mentorship to other equipment operators as needed.
• Operate various heavy equipment including water trucks, motor graders, and track and rubber tire dozers.

• Understand the operational aspects of equipment components such as the engine, transmission, planetary final drives, main driveline, torque converter, differential, and braking systems.
• Assist with operations support activities including housekeeping, barricading, cable moves, and ground support tasks.
• Perform minor maintenance activities as required.
• Fulfill any other duties as assigned.
